A traditional Article 1, ’finishing screw’, manufactured by Guest Keen Nettlefolds (G.K.N) of Birmingham and therefore old stock, this particular batch of beautiful, deep rich, warm looking antique brass wood screws, is well suited to conservation or restoration project whereby an older vintage finish is required.
These wood screws are no longer manufactured in Birmingham (England) and are thought to be at least circa 70 years old. British wood screws are often described by joiners, cabinets makers and restorers alike as being superior in quality & finish.
Unlike newly manufactured ‘Factory Bright’ slotted wood screws, these are old stock wood screws, displaying signs of age, patina and warmth.
These screws are rich and somewhat full toned in appearance, which is typically due to their age, grade of brass, storage conditions over time & difference in manufacturing techniques compared to modern screws.
